Ah, the magic of outside. It's one way to conscious living, to being in the present. Thanks for reminding me that it's not too difficult to just go outside, and I do have nature close by. I am in awe of the ancient trees.
you remind me how much we have missed. we are 5-min walk around from the waterfront and yet I have never thought of bringing a book and go read there. joy in life is everywhere to be found and we just need to think a bit differently to find the spark!
Thank you. Wonderful you're looking at what really matters and being peaceful. I've added the two books to my hold list at the library, but likely won't remember who recommended them when I get them.
Here we go - still waiting on the second book, but have read Winter in Sokcho. I would have to say it is not my usual type of selection, but in spite of that I finished it in one sitting. I wanted to know what happened next. And I’m still only about 80% sure I understand how it finished, but if I’m right then I loved it! I see some big cultural gaps in my knowledge (while we have a broad range of cultures here, there does tend to be a general “occupational bias” for them and I have spent little time in the areas I am aware of with Korean workers). Definitely interesting. Thank you again for the recommendation.
This is great! It made my day that you actually read the book! Yes, I felt similarly about it. I loved it when I finished it even though it's unlike anything I've read before!
I like to expand my horizons, and reading things that friends (even the ones I haven’t ‘met’ yet) recommend has been a great way to do it. I come away from our high-school reunions with reading lists and it’s amazing. I’ve enjoyed several you’ve recommended :)

Nature provides so much! Enjoy!

Maybe bring your kids along too to read together, if that's what they are into! I remember there are so many great parks in HK!

Happy reading! Would love to know your thoughts if you end up reading any of them!

Beautifully written. I love the giant sequoias. Glad you got to spend time soaking it all in. :)
Thank you, Nafisa :) It was so wonderful to be in nature!
