Forgot to mention, I'm currently listening to The Art of Gathering by Priya Parker, I want to apply this knowledge to how I build community in my new city.
I’m reading All Made Up:The Power and Pitfalls of Beauty Culture, from Cleopatra to Kim Kardashian by Rae Nudson, little explanation is needed, but it’s lots of interesting research!
I’m also eagerly awaiting my copy of Money Out Loud by Berna Anat, she’s from SF and writes about personal finance from the perspective of a first gen child of immigrants. She's hilarious and makes money less intimidating, I can't wait to read it.
This was a wonderful list of recs, Yuezhong. I've got my name down for The Unseen Body, that is going to spark so many good conversations with my husband who is studying X-ray right now. And I didn't know about The Light We Carry, I've both listened to and read Becoming a couple of times, I'm looking forward to picking this up, too.
So glad to hear that you liked this list :) Can't wait to hear what you think The Light We Carry, especially how it compared to your experience reading Becoming.
