What Do You Get?

By subscribing, you can expect to receive weekly-ish book reviews and reading suggestions, that are often mixed up with my stories of finding home in America and other musings.

Each letter ends with tiny joyous things that will hopefully make your day go better: movies, food, recipes, podcasts, and other sweet moments in life.

Occasionally, I send out reviews on advanced reader copies (ARC) I receive from publishers before the publication date, so you’ll get a sneak peek at some of the upcoming good books.

Book Genres + Topics Often Reviewed

Memoirs, immigrant stories, and fiction written by authors of the Asian diaspora, among everything else.

The Anti-Schedule Schedule

This is a weekly-ish newsletter because I am committed to writing every week. I have a full-time job that’s often demanding, but I try my best to write and publish every week. I pour a lot of love, time, and energy into crafting and editing each letter to put out my best work possible. Sometimes the newsletter might take a while because life happens.

There is no weekly schedule. The newsletter will be ready when it’s ready.

About Me

I grew up in China and moved to the United States when I was 18. I started writing film reviews during college and always love talking about good films and books with people. During the day, I am a staff member at Knight-Hennessy Scholars at Stanford University.

I have a BA in History from the College of William & Mary and an MA in Higher Education from the University of Michigan.
